All the assessments for classes I – IX will be internal, based on the latest CBSE circulars. Though Board exams will be compulsory for class- X, 20% of the total marks in each subject will be for the internal assessment. The new scheme (CBSE circular no. Acad - 14/2017 dated 21-3-2017) will have two terms, ending with two major exams. The second terminal exam will cover important topics from the first term too. The details of the assessment are as follows :-
Subject enrichment activities,which form an integral part of the new scheme, aim at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These will be carried out throughout the term and evaluated at the term end. Similar activities in languages will focus on developing the listening and speaking skills. The lab work, map work/project work etc. in other subjects will also form part of these activities. The grading scale for the above assessments will be as follows:-
Discipline, a core aspect of education, will also be assessed on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others. Grading will be done term-wise on a 3-point grade scale as given below:-
CLASS XITo pass the exam, a candidate must obtain not less than the 33% marks in each subject. N.B: Promotional rules will change from time to time as per CBSE circulars and rules in force for that academic year. |
